Founded in 1902, Conga De Los Hoyos is one of the oldest and best-known carnival groups in Santiago, Cuba. Group members are exclusively from the Los Hoyos neighbourhood of Santiago. The group features over 50 percussionists and singers and the distinctive ‘corneta china’ – a Chinese trumpet unique to eastern Cuba’s carnival groups.
